Workshop: Disaster Risk Planning – The Game – dates to be confirmed

A engaging, educational and fun activity for anyone wanting to learn how to build community resilience in the face of escalating climate and ecological disasters.
If you’re interested in taking part in this 3 hour workshop, please express your interest via this short form, and you’ll be kept informed.
In October 2024 I worked with Louis Delmege to put on Louis’s Disaster Risk Planning Game, which they designed based on their experience of responding to the crisis of the Pandemic and collaborating with community partners to ensure that food was properly distributed around Bristol. The Game is a way to be immersed in practical problem-solving and cooperation, as new disasters arrive on the scene. Though the undertones are serious, the light-heartedness of the Game allows for participants to start to engage with the enormity of the times we’re heading into. After Louis ran the Game, I facilitated a community mapping activity for different areas of Bristol. This is part of wider work I’m doing to collaborate with a national network that is forming to respond to what’s starting to be called ‘The Long Emergency’ (more information on this to follow).
Those who took part responded positively, giving feedback such as, ‘I feel more connected and resourced, internally and externally.’ I’m hoping to run more events based on The Game and Community Mapping in 2025.
