Workshop: Dreaming and Plotting into Collapse

This workshop creates a held space so that together we may dare to contemplate the unthinkable – that the systems we all rely on, no matter how harmful and problematic – may well collapse; indeed are already collapsing, leaving chaos and violence in their wake. And if we’ve dared to contemplate this, how can we go even further – to imagine other possibilities for what can grow out of or in spite of collapse? What are our visions for what we want to create, for what is still possible to create, and how do we envision what we need to do to get there? Is it possible for communities or even whole societies to exist with highly desirable characteristics even amidst the chaos?

The workshop makes space and time for us to explore how Collapse inhabits our inner worlds, before going on to grow our dreams and visions for collective action and how we work towards alternative futures.

Workshop: Developing Spoonie Culture in Bristol

This workshop was run by and for people who live with chronic illness leading to energy impairment (‘Spoonies’). I (Jay) am working with Genevieve Cameo (convenor of ‘Spoonie Rave’) to try and secure funding for a series of workshops/play spaces for Spoonies in Bristol in 2025. Too often, social and cultural activities are inaccessible for people with energy limiting conditions. This workshop drew people together to imagine what accessible spaces for Spoonies could look like, and what folks would want to do in them. What came out of the workshop has informed how funding will be applied for. If you’d like to contribute your ideas, there’s still time; email me at info@fromtheheartgrowswild.earth).

Workshop: Disaster Risk Planning – The Game

A engaging, educational and fun activity for anyone wanting to learn how to build community resilience in the face of escalating climate and ecological disasters.

Collaborative Spoonie Poetry Workshop

This workshop is especially for people living with energy impairment due to chronic illess. The workshop offers a different way to share and explore experience of energy impairment, breaking with the isolation and lack of understanding so often faced in chronic illness.

The Turning Year – Workshop on preparing an Autumn Equinox ritual

Marking the points of the solar calendar can be a powerful way to take stock of the natural world and your place in it as the seasons change; to reflect on the last period of time and set intentions for what’s next. It can help with re-grounding and reconnecting with yourself, your purpose, your community and the more-than-human world around you. This workshop will help you prepare a ritual that you can do just for yourself or with others, looking at how Autumn Equinox has been marked in times gone by. Find poems on the 8 solar celebrations here.
